Why do you need OSHC?
Australia has a high-quality healthcare system, but as an international student, you are generally not covered by our public health system (Medicare).
It is a strict requirement of the Department of Home Affairs that you maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your stay in Australia.
You must arrange your cover before you arrive in Australia.
Your policy must start from the date you arrive, not just the date your course starts.
You must maintain this cover until you leave Australia or transition to a different visa type.
